•To define and discuss the Halakhah mode of living and learning.

–To delineate its values – walking on the derekh of Halakhah

–To differentiate this discourse from that of Rav Soloveitchik

•To define and discuss the Talmud mode of learning and living.

–To delineate its values – navigating on the sea of Talmud

•To recognize the clashes between the modes and their implications
